Public transport is the best way for participants and spectators to get to and from The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Qantas Assure. The closest train stations to the start line are St James, Martin Place and Town Hall. The closest bus services are on Elizabeth Street.

Road closures and diversions will be in place to ensure the safety of runners and the non-event community. Please plan your trip at Live Traffic or call 132 701 for the latest information.
Road closures will be in place in the Sydney CBD, The Rocks, Pyrmont, Ultimo and the Royal Botanic Gardens from 4am to 11am. Major road closures include the Cahill Expressway and sections of the Western Distributor.
- The Cahill Expressway over Circular Quay and parts of the Western Distributor will be closed from 4am until 10am on Sunday morning for the Half Marathon. Plan ahead at Live Traffic.
- Road closures will be in place from 4am until 11am in the CBD, The Rocks, Pyrmont and Ultimo for the Half Marathon. Allow extra travel time in these areas or catch public transport. Check Live Traffic or call 132 701 for the latest information before leaving home.
- Some Sydney CBD buses will be diverted until 11:30am while roads are closed for the Half Marathon. Allow extra travel time or catch a City Circle train instead. Plan ahead and go to Transport Info or call 131 500.
Special event clearways will also be in place between 3:00am and 11:00am. Special Event clearways are no parking zones - this includes motorcycles and vehicles with parking permits. Check the signs before parking as vehicles left in special event clearways will be towed and towing fees apply.
